Sweet , handy little classic,

All of us are familiar with the hymn, "Take my life and let it be". But few of us know the story or author behind it. In this book, the hymn writer herself writes for us her thoughts on this hymn. She brings us through each phrase of the song, and reveals some personal God-fearing thoughts concerning them. Thus we are able to hear from the writer herself, with the thoughts that inspired each line of this traditional favorite.

This book is strongly recommended to all of you, as a short, sweet devotional; small and handy that can be carried around wherever you go! A highly encouraging read that is guaranteed to touch your hearts.

Arrived on time and as promised,I work with market data every working day so have a high level of knowledge concerning it. But when a new standard comes along, particularly one where a fair amount of abstraction of the domain is applied, it is difficult to map real world data into that abstract model. This is where the book is essential reading. It gives practical application of real world data and real world uses of that data. This greatly accelerates the application of this model to practical uses.

I wanted a book that I could use as a quick reference. I'm in the industry and wanted something I could reference and lend to team members. The book is pretty light on detail. On the technology side it doesn't offer much more than a quick google would uncover. It has some good sections but for the money I wouldn't recommend to others.

A great book--well written and practical--highly relevant for at least two audiences:

1) Financial professionals involved in process redesign, especially Straight Through Processing (STP)

2) Anyone for whom technology-enabled process automation is a goal. Even if you are not streamlining trade settlement processes, Ms. Khanna's book has valuable lessons and frameworks which apply throughout the financial services industry, and beyond.

Why do I believe this book is valuable beyond STP specifically? The book is structured to combined specific details with essential principles.

For example, my favorite chapter, Chapter 6: Data Management, introduces core data management concepts including data governance, "golden copy" reference data, service-oriented data synchronization, and even best practices in data normalization.

Readable, relevant, and highly recommended.

Good (albeit not perfect ... ) Current Cardiology Review in ePub Format

Perhaps I was looking for the impossible - a "Go-To" ePub book on key cardiology topics that was up-to-date - extensive in content covered with thoughtful, detailed complete discussion without being overly wordy and without costing several hundred dollars. My needs were not for review of simple cardiology basics (which I'm well familiar with) - but rather to have a ready source I could turn to that answered the occasional advanced material questions that I will have. After careful overview of the material "out there" - I felt this ePub version came closest to fulfilling my needs. Published in November, 2013 - the ePub version is under $100 (depending on whatever discount is currently being offered) - and material is well organized in ePub format. Most subjects I have looked for are discussed in this ePub with thoughtful concise commentary that has given me the answer I was looking for. My only request would be for a bit more in-depth coverage of certain topics (ergo my 4 instead 5-star rating). This ePub is definitely worth the price charged. That said - I would gladly pay more for a bit more extensive coverage ...

Great book. I do not recommend this over the regular CURRENT medical diagnostics and treatment though. Unless you're en route to becoming a cardiologist, it's to much.

About the Author

Dr. Pieter Schavemaker, Principal Consultant of E-Bridge Consulting B.V., has worked in the energy sector for 20 years. Pieter gained a varied experience working as assistant professor at the Delft University of Technology, with a large manufacturer of power system equipment (ABB), with a Transmission System Operator (Tennet TSO), and as a consultant. During recent years, Pieter was heavily involved in the international work on the boundary between system operations and the electricity market. Pieter is one of the founding fathers of the CWE Flow-based Market Coupling that is currently in operation. Pieter holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Power Systems from Delft University of Technology, is a certified PRINCE2® Practitioner, and author of the book ‘Electrical Power System Essentials’, published by John Wiley & Sons.

Lou van der Sluis obtained his M.Sc. in electrical engineering from the Delft University of Technology in 1974. He joined the KEMA High Power Laboratory in 1977 as a test engineer. In 1990 he became a part-time professor and since 1992 he has been employed as a full-time professor in Electrical Power Systems at the Delft University of Technology. Professor van der Sluis is a senior member of IEEE and past convener of CC-03 of CIGRE and CIRED to study the transient recovery voltages in medium and high voltage networks. He is has been member of CIGRE WG. A3-24 on internal arc testing and member of CIGRE WG. C4-502 to study the interaction between High-Voltage overhead lines and underground cables. He is a member of the advisory board of SC-A3 of CIGRE. Professor Van der Sluis is the author the book Transients in Power Systems and co-author  of Electrical Power System Essentials and Switching in Electrical Transmission and Distribution Systems, all published by Wiley.
