I love diet recipe books. I can never have too many of them. This one offers and array of delicious recipes. Some look easier than others but they all look mouth watering! I can't wait to try a few of these.

I purchased this book in hopes of finding some good recipes for a lifestyle change in my diet. I found this book to be very helpful and the recipes are great! I from inflammation in my feet and ankles. The anti inflammatory diet have help the inflammation tremendously. I have tried several of the recipes and have loved them all so far. This book has a lot of good tips and advice for eating right. All and all I think it's a good, helpful book.

actually learned a lot

I just received the Diet Guide: Diet Guidance from Comfort Foods, Blood Type Diet and Anti Inflammatory book and I found this to be very insightful mostly regarding the significance of undermining comfort foods and unveiling blood type diets along with anti inflammatory foods. I found the section about blood type diets to be very intriguing because not everybody has the same blood type, so depending on yours also determines the type of diet you should try. This book provided recipes that range from breakfast to dinner in addition to soups and salads – they pretty much cover everything. I only tried one recipe thus far, I was pretty surprised at how well it came out. Overall, I feel this book is definitely worthwhile because in addition to learning about techniques to help maintain your body you also get pretty good recipes. Overall I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is curious about blood type diets or anti inflammatory diets.

A good introduction to major themes

I am using this book as the textbook for my Chinese Linguistics course. I found it very accessible to students who have no linguistics background at all. The introduction is "jargon-free" and fun. It is a good way to introduce the Chinese language and culture to students who have not studied Chinese or who have had very little Chinese training. But for students who have had at least a year's worth of Chinese classes, some of the chapters seem not enough for them. Such students probably benefit more from materials that are more in-depth. But for the targeted readership of this book, it is very well written and engaging. So I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in knowing the structure, the writing system and history of the Chinese language.

Concise, clearly written. Very good linguistic analysis and it includes the characters with the examples. It helps if you have some background with Chinese if you want to get the full benefit of the book.

Best avoid

If you do not have an in-depth knowledge of Chinese linguistics and are looking to learn about it, I can see how this text would satisfy your quest for knowledge, it however will only do so superficially and not give you a clear, accurate, up-to-date or scientific view of the field which can still be done in a simple and readable manner without the many basic errors in this book. If you don't know the subject, then you will be blind to the many faults of this text which is highly problematic. There is obviously plenty of basic information that is perfectly acceptable, but it contains a myriad of informational errors and analytical flaws not to mention writing and grammar issues in English. One assumes that these things are peer reviewed, but it doesn't appear to have been reviewed by more than one other person who likely knows little of the subject and yet didn't even manage to catch writing errors. If you actually want more than a perfunctory understanding of Chinese linguistics do not let this text pollute your understanding of the subject.

About the Author

Kisshomaru Ueshiba (1921-1999) became master of the Aikido World Headquarters in 1948, and in 1967 was named chairman of the Aikikai Foundation, the principal aikido organization in Japan and overseas. He was formally appointed his father's successor in 1969. He was the author of The Art of Aikido and A Life in Aikido; and was the co-author of Best Aikido. He also wrote the introduction to Budo by his father, Morihei Ueshiba.

I will recommend this book to scholars for the fact that it demonstrated a worldly perspective of democracy and how it can in many ways move societies forward. I hope to read it the second time. Great book.
